Are You Ready For Your Big Break?

Your time is coming but are you ready?

Your big break can happen at any moment, especially if you’ve been working on your craft for years. Many people (including myself) fantasize about what our “moment” will look like in the future. These mental images have the power to make us emotional and cause us to work harder than ever.

Even this morning when going for a walk, I thought about the potential reality of me getting my big break and it brought tears to my eyes. Now, this moment isn’t guaranteed to anyone but it’s not impossible. The process can seem like forever and we’ll want to give up more times than not but as long we stick to what we’re doing and we do it consistently then there’s no one that can tell us what our future has in store for us.

Do we need to start thinking about what our life will be like once our big break comes? Are we actually ready for it or is it something that’s going to overwhelm us in the future? The future is never exactly how we planned it to be but there are a few things we can do to help us maintain emotional stability when the time comes.

Of course, we’re going to want to rub it in everyone’s face when we do get our shot but is that really the smartest thing to do? For one, you putting your success in their faces is only discouraging them and you giving them a reason to hate on you.

Two, you never know what life has in store for you after your success, everything that you’ve worked for can be taken away from you within the blink of an eye so be thankful for what you’ve earned and don’t boast about it too much.

There’s a lot to keep in mind when it comes to our future but at the end of the day it’s out of our control, we have to be aware of the attitude that we have towards our craft and make sure it’s one with good intentions. Anything that we do with a passion that is good for the world will never be a bad thing and will never lose value. So, are you ready?

There Will Still Be Obstacles

Obstacles never stop, they’re reminders that we need to stay on our toes and look out for what can happen to us at any moment. You don’t want to live in fear for the rest of your life but you do want to be comfortable with what could happen whether it’s negative or positive.

Just because you made it doesn’t mean that life will start to slow down for you. Yes, it’s okay to celebrate your success every now and then but you should still be ready to face obstacles. Even if we have all the money that we would like, we still have to deal with relationships, emotions, and the environment.

Using the position we’re in now to train ourselves for the future is something special to keep in mind. You may not realize it now but all of the negative people and frustrating obstacles that you’re dealing with currently are just getting you ready for the future.

It’s so hard to see this because each obstacle gets harder and harder but the more you push through the more confident you will be for the next one. You’ll start saying things to yourself like “If I was able to get through this then I can get through anything.”

Life will get scary, and we will feel stuck at times but you’ve already accomplished so much in your life so don’t give up. Your moment of success is right around the corner, get used to dealing with difficulty and uncertainty because there will be a lot more of it in the future.

In the future, you will thank the present you for being able to stay strong. The strength that you’re building up now emotionally will stay with you in the future leading you to be braver for when life tries to test you.

Less Time Than You Thought

When you have your breakthrough moment of success, you will soon come to realize how important time to yourself is. This becomes evident due to the fact that you have to now manage your success along with your personal life.

You’ve been doing your passion for a while now so you kind of got the hang of it even though it’s a work in progress and your personal life will always need attention because… well…it’s you. Only you know where your time is going on a daily basis and how you’re feeling as that time is being spent.

Having less time to yourself can definitely hurt you. It’s not a good feeling when you’re constantly working on your side hustle or business and you can’t give any attention to yourself because you’re so busy.

Enjoy the moments of solitude that you have now as they will try to fade away in the future. You may have wished to get the attention of others in the past but when you make you’ll be crying for more time to yourself. If you’re an introvert, then this drastic change can be very hard to deal with at first. You need time to yourself in order to be productive.

So, you need to see if you’re ready for your big break when considering time, time is valuable and it’s something that we’re all given so use it wisely. You’ll have a higher possibility of burnout when you make it, it will be like taking care of two different versions of yourself at the same time.

Use the time you have now to really enjoy your personal life before it’s taken away, you can still strive for success but you need to put in the time for that success to take care of yourself. The world will doubt you and may feel like it’s not on your side so be strategic when planning out your life for success.

Staying Healthy

“Health is wealth” as they say and it’s something that slips our minds from time to time. When it comes to our diets we’re all guilty, we all crave sweet and savory food but too much of it can lead us to exhaustion.

When you make it to the level you always dreamed of, do you want to be feeling exhausted or do you want to be full of energy? We have to make sure that we’re taking care of our bodies in order to keep moving forward with our success. Not only is our physical health important but our mental health as well.

The more successful you are the more haters you’ll have to deal with, which ultimately leads to more stress. Start getting used to people not believing in you and people not appreciating the work you do because the critics will increase once you make it.

Look at the people who you look up to now, they may be loved in your eyes but they’re also hated in others. There have been many people who are considered successful who have to take a break from their crafts because their mental health wasn’t right.

Famous rapper Big sean, recently came out about his time with depression and anxiety and took a year off of music to focus more on his self and his love for music. We need to be mentally strong now so that we can deal with mental issues that tend to come with success.

Your big break is a moment you dream for but is it something you’re ready for? It’s up to you to work on yourself now for the future. I’ll leave you with a quote from Bruce Lee that says

“A goal is not always meant to be reached, it often serves simply as something to aim at.”

A young adult who’s writing is geared towards self-improvement and self care. “We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospect.”
