A secret that’s looked down upon
The method of journaling has been used since the beginning of time. Ancient Roman Emperors utilized journaling to display their true feelings and goals that they had towards their city and provinces. Many of the world’s most successful writers and entrepreneurs use journaling daily to plan out their most difficult task, especially when stress comes into play. While most people were taught to not enjoy writing due to the educational system of today’s day and age, this simple and effective process will make you stand out from the average author.
What are You Supposed to Write About and When?
Journaling is meant to release all of your most deep thoughts onto a piece of paper to where you can organize your anxieties and the things that you are most thankful for. When using this process in the morning it can be very useful for planning out your day making you feel productive in the a.m. Now when writing at night is where the therapeutic feelings start to develop and bring healing to your mental state. This is the time to write about the good and bad parts about your day, what you want to improve on and reminding yourself of how you truly feel about yourself and the world around you. If you have trouble on getting started or have writers block, then you can pick up a journal that has prompts already written on each page or you can find some prompts online that suit your interest as well.
When Will I See a Difference?
Gradually as you start to write more and more every day, the easier it becomes. Not only will it become easier to write but you’ll start to see a more enhanced, detailed flow among your writing that feels superior. Another minor secret that will help your writing when combined with journaling is taking time to read every day as well. The more effort that you put towards these two skills the more joyful that you will be about your writing, this goes for whether you are a student who has mandatory essays coming up for your final grade or an author who wants their book to stand out from the majority. Although this routine is designated to be long-term it will have benefits to your overall mental health immediately. I leave my readers with a great quote about journaling by Anne Frank that says, “I can shake off everything as I write, my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn.”
